Hydrangea Tote
This is a deep tote, with removeable leather handles, which means the bag can be thrown in the washing machine (good!). It has the same pattern of a huge hydrangea head on each side.
-
Decadent Bag
Shiny, slightly rubberized leather, completely hand stitched in deep red linen thread.
-
Edo Bag
I love the Japanese idea of storing everything in bags and/or boxes. This is a traditional Japanese drawstring bag, made from a little corner of Nina Campbell’s “Perroquet” fabric. It’s lined in pink silk, and has contrast silk channels for the drawstrings.
-
Autumn Tote
Substantial, slightly wooly fabric large tote with a lovely autumnal colour scheme. Pebbled brown leather straps and bottom, so you can put it down anywhere.
-
Age of Reason Bag
A very quick summing up of the eighteent century! Taxonomy, natural history, portraiture and interior decor.
This bag was designed to be worn across the body, or from the shoulder if the strap is shortened.
-
Camellia Tote
A very smart but warm and colourful tote, designed to fit comfortably on the shoulder. Black pebbled leather straps and bottom, the leather is very stain and water resistant.
-
indigovines.jpg
A long everyday tote bag, fully lined with two pockets.
-
purpleleather.jpg
Large, hand-sewn purple tote bag. Unusual coloured leather. Stitching details on the strap. Lined in pure silk.
-
redsatchel.jpg
Small red satchel, modelled on military bags. Lined in patterned green/ochre cotton with pockets. Cotton webbing strap. Can be worn across the body, or as a shoulder bag.
-
summertimetote.jpg
Bright, cheerful heavy cotton/linen tote, fully lined with pockets. The hand-sewn leather straps can be completely removed so that the bag may be machine washed.
-
starbag.jpg
Modelled on a design by Ezura Yoshimi, a Japanese bag designer whose work is very inspirational. It is a simple tote with a leather bottom and hand sewn straps. The slant of the handles adds a little extra something to the design.

indigo vine tote2.jpg
This is based on a design by Ezura Yoshimi, which I modified in several ways. I loved the handsewn handles and the angle at which they’re attached to the bag, but I made the leather base much deeper and more structured. It’s a nice mixture of hand stitched (handles and the leather base to the fabric) and machine sewn.
The bag is fully lined with several pockets and zipped across the top for security.

lemon and lime 1.jpg
A most unusual colour - this is a true lemon yellow furnishing leather made by the Tempesti company. I use their coloured leathers as they are fully dyed through, so scratches and other damage don’t really show. The bag is designed as a very upbeat kind of messenger/satchel, with a little green lime as the fastener. The interior is lined with a cotton fabric printed with Chinese motifs.

tassle bag 1.jpg
This was an experiment in using a stiff leather ‘frame’ which leads on to the strap, with a softer leather for the body of the bag, in this case a beautiful teal goatskin, which was a one-off find at one of my suppliers. Goatskin is usually used for bookbinding and small leather goods, but I loved the thin and slightly stiff handle of the hide and wanted to make something bigger. Goatskin takes colour very well, and this is no exception - a rich deep teal.

wristlet brown 4.jpg
A ‘wristlet’ bag, which is a zipped clutch with a carrying handle. There are interior pockets for cards etc. Made from rich tan leather, with hand-cut floral decoration.
